The Delhi High Court on Saturday warned Centre that it will face contempt charges if Delhi doesn't get enough oxygen supply today. The Delhi government on Saturday has attacked the Centre saying oxygen has become an ego issue. The high court directed the Centre to ensure Delhi receives 490 MT oxygen on Saturday by any means and "in case of non-compliance, we may even consider initiating contempt proceedings". The Delhi government counsel, Rahul Mehra, said during the hearing that he is on the verge of a breakdown, all officers in Delhi are about to break down. "I’m going to have a breakdown now. Our officers are on the verge of a breakdown. We need oxygen. What do we do," asked Mehra. The central government has increased Delhi's quota of medical oxygen from 490 metric tonnes to 590 metric tonnes, government sources told India Today TV. “Apart from increasing the quota of oxygen, we are trying to provide help to Delhi government in every possible way,” added the official source.
